Autumn 2020 Photos + More Inspiration

Back in 2018 I wrote a post called Autumn Photos + Inspiration. You can see that here:  https://livingseasonal.blogspot.com/2018/10/autumn-photos-inspiration.html

Now we're in autumn once again, so here are a couple of photos I took in Hove Park recently, and I also thought I'd share some posts with inspiration for things to do during this season. :)

Hove Park- early Oct.

We're now firmly into autumn, and the trees are starting to change more. Sometimes it can be a while into October before you see the really deep colours in my area, so I'm looking forward to that. This is a beautiful time of year with all the leaves changing, and the golden afternoon and early evening light.

The temperature has dropped this past week (it's about 14C/57F during the day and 11C/51F at night) and I put my electric fire on for the first time last night! I'm still wearing my flip flops but not for much longer, lol. I need to get some new winter shoes. I did recently get a pair of "cosy" socks from Sainsburys.

It's been a difficult year but I'm glad I was able to get out more during the summer. With new lockdown rules in Scotland just come in due to rising coronavirus cases, local lockdowns in Wales and new restrictions for England set to be announced this upcoming week, we're likely to be staying home more this autumn. I hope we are still able to get out a bit though.

Here is some inspiration for autumn, whether you're at home or going out when it's safe to do so. :)

How to celebrate the long autumn nights: https://homespunseasonalliving.com/celebrate-long-nights/

I admit that the last one (celebrating long autumn nights) is difficult for me because I have seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and don't like it when the days get shorter. I do also have general (clinical) depression, but find that I struggle more during the autumn and winter.  If you also have SAD, here is a post with some tips for coping with it: https://wellnessmama.com/344432/seasonal-affective-disorder/

This is a good post as well that I shared last year: https://www.backwoodsmama.com/2017/10/when-autumn-makes-you-sad-5-proven-ways-to-conquer-seasonal-depression.html

You can also find more links for dealing with SAD in my More Inspiration + Winter Tag post from last year: https://livingseasonal.blogspot.com/2019/12/more-winter-inspiration-winter-tag.html

Update 15/10/20: I forgot to mention that I'm signed-up to Jaye Rockett's Hunting for Autumn newsletter which gives you ideas and inspiration for celebrating and making the most of autumn. I signed-up to it last year as well and enjoyed it. Here's the link if you're interested: https://jayerockett.us19.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=d63a1f5733def20479f140bbf&id=290d9d4153

So I hope that gave you plenty of inspiration for autumn and you liked the pictures! :) My favourite sabbat Samhain (also Hallowe'en) is coming up at the end of the month, so look out for a post on that. Happy Autumn! Or Happy Spring!). :)
