Autumn 2023 Photos + Winter Links

I've previously written a couple of posts sharing autumn photos and inspiration for the season. You can see them below:

I thought I would share a few pictures from this autumn today. I do post pics in my seasonal updates but as they're quarterly now, the season has passed by the time I write the post. So it's nice to be a bit more "up to date" as autumn comes to an end. I'm also sharing a few links to inspire as we move into winter. :)

First up, here are the autumn pics:

Last of the autumn colours- mid Nov.

The trees seemed to take longer to tun this year, at least here in Sussex. Maybe it was because we had a hot "late summer" in September. And by the time some of them changed colour, the leaves were starting to fall off a lot!

As I've mentioned before, there are two starts to winter depending on whether you go by the meteorological or the astronomical definition. So although winter hasn't "officially" started (if you go by the second one) until the Winter Solstice aka Yule, it's been feeling wintry lately! There was snow in some parts of the UK this weekend. In my area it's just been raining, although it did look like a bit of sleet yesterday, lol. The coldest its been so far is about 4C (39F) during the day and -2C (28F) at night. Its warmer at the moment though, 8C (46F).

I'm not keen on winter because I don't like the cold. But I try to look for the good in all seasons (that's really what this blog is about!) and I like to celebrate Yule and Christmas. I came across a good post by Lydia Elise Millen about finding joy in the darker months of the year, which I'll link to below. This year Yule/the Winter Solstice is 22nd December. I'll link to my most recent Yule posts below as well. :)
