Summer-Autumn Update (2026) + Happy Samhain/Hallowe'en!

It's now October, so it's time for my summer-autumn update! :) You can see my previous updates of 2026 at the links below:

Winter-Spring Update (2026) + Happy Beltane!: https://livingseasonal.blogspot.com/2026/04/winter-spring-update-2026-happy-beltane.html

Spring-Summer Update (2026) + Happy Lammas!: https://livingseasonal.blogspot.com/2026/07/spring-summer-update-2026-happy-lammas.html

I didn't do much in July. At the beginning of August, I celebrated Lammas. You can see my post about it here: https://livingseasonal.blogspot.com/2026/08/lammas-2026.html

In mid-late September, I celebrated Madron/the Autumn Equinox. You can read about it here: https://livingseasonal.blogspot.com/2026/09/madron-2026.html

Similarly to the last update, I haven't been up to much else. I've just been going to Happy CafĂ© (Action for Happiness Meetup events) about once a month and to the library. I went to the park as part of my celebrations for the sabbats.

Here are a couple of photos I took during the summer:

Churchill Square, Brighton- Aug.

Later that same evening.

And here's another I took when I went to the park for Madron in September:

Sunset in Hove Park.

I made some Vietnamese style iced coffees over the summer and now it's getting colder I've started making hot chocolate at home again (my favourite is French hot chocolate).

I did some baking for Lammas and Madron, but didn't bake anything apart from that. As for cooking, I tried a couple few new recipes for tea (dinner), a taco rice bowl (Sailor Bailey) and taco tortellini skillet (a Mix and Match Mama recipe).

As I mentioned in my Madron post, we had a very hot summer in the UK (the heatwaves actually started in the spring) which broke records (and it was similar in mainland Europe). The hottest temperature in my area of Sussex was about 31C (87F) but the hottest temperature in the UK altogether was 38.2C (100.8F).

Last month it was typical September temperatures. It's been getting colder this month and feeling really autumnal. We've had a lot of rain and wind lately, and now we had a couple of storms. The clocks went back on Sunday and now sunset is around 4.46pm. I find the shorter, darker days at this time of year quite hard.

So that's it for the update! :) I didn't have a lot to write about but never mind, lol. I hope your summer and autumn went/have been going well (or your winter and spring, depending on where you live!). The next sabbat is Samhain, so I've included some info about it below.

Read: Slow Living for Modern Women by Adriana Tudorache of YR studio (non-fiction), Solve for Happy by Mo Gawdat (non-fiction), Unbound by Peyton Corrine, The Lost Passenger by Frances Quinn, The Futures: A New York Love Story by Anna Pitonak.

Watched: The Game (Series 2).

Links I found useful during summer and autumn: Manifesting by Design Substack, Adriana Tudorache's (YR studio) 2026 Autumn Countdown series) Aonu's YouTube channel (also about manifesting/the Law of Attraction).

P.S. It's Samhain (one of my favourite sabbats) this upcoming weekend (Saturday 31st October) so here are some links with some inspiration for celebrating! I also celebrate Hallowe'en. :)
